Fixed Electrical Testing and Safety Tests in Cambridge and Nationwide
Is your building overdue for fixed electrical testing?
Dont get caught out.
At Safe Electric, we have been ensuring employers provide a safe working environment for over 33 years. Under the Electricity at Work Regulations of 1989, it is your responsibility as Duty Holder to ensure that your fixed electrical installation is safe for both your employees and visitors

As of January 2012 in the UK the rules change and the report will be known as an electrical conditioning report, you must have one every 5 years in a commercial property, sooner in others, currently known as fixed electrical testing or periodic electrical testing on a nationwide platform, ensuring your electrics operate inside health and safety regulations.

Home Owners – are you aware that…

Under the new law, Part P of the building regulations that came into force in January the 1st 2005, most of the electrical works at home have to be carried out by a qualified electrician, registered under a government approved scheme (NICEIC, or ELECSA, or NAPIT)

  • Each year 12,500 fires in UK homes are caused by old or faulty electrics
  • Every year, 10 people die and 750 people are seriously injured because of faulty electrics
  • 40% of the people had no idea about the age of the wiring within their home and 1 of 5 said their wiring was as much as 30 years old
  • 52% of the people questioned did not know how often house wiring should be checked by a qualified electrician
  • According to the latest property survey, 65% of the London’s properties are using old wiring and based on the current standards they may not even be safe to use
  • If you hire the services of unregistered electrician, you have to wait for an electrical installation approval from the local authority building control inspector, before the installation starts being used.
  • If the inspector is not satisfied, he can ask for changes to be made or he can even insist for a complete rewire of the property to meet the current standards
  • Statistic shows that a D.I.Y. or unregistered electrician can cost you twice as much time and money than the work done by a qualified professional electrician
